Snow: Weather travel advisory issued for Ottawa and region

A winter weather travel advisory is in effect from Cornwall to Pembroke, Environment Canada announced Saturday.

“Scattered bands of heavy snow are expected across the area beginning this afternoon,” the agency said in an alert.

“Snow combined with gusty winds will lead to reduced visibilities at times.

“Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather.”

Early indications are for accumulations up to five cm of snow over some regions.
